megan davis yoga

I love to teach! I love to hold space, especially for women, teens and children. A clinical social worker turned yogi, my mission is to share yoga and mindfulness as resources toward healing from anxiety, grief and trauma (self included!). I have extensive training around trauma-informed yoga, and offer professional development for yoga instructors, counselors and educators on teaching through this lens.

As a school based therapist in inner-city Cleveland for over 14 years, I witnessed daily the effects of trauma on development, wellness and personal power.  Yoga impacted my personal capacity for change so deeply that I knew I had to share it. A fire was ignited in my soul and that light is what drives me along this path toward my passion and purpose.

My teaching style is rooted in the elements, moving between earth, water and fire as we flow, breathe, release and connect. Music fuels my classes; don't be surprised if we end up singing, laughing or crying together...those are the cornerstones of true connection anyway, right. In every class, with any age yogi, my goal is always to create space for students to take ownership over their own experience and find moments to just BE.

I currently serve as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Cleveland based non-profit Zenworks Yoga, as well as teach weekly trauma informed yoga and mindfulness classes at The Gerson School @ Applewood Centers. You can also find me at Harvest Yoga + Wellness Studio where I hold a monthly yoga class for trauma survivors, and teach empowerment workshops and specialty classes.

My intention in this crazy beautiful life is to be a conduit of change; I truly believe that each of us has the capacity for resilience and grace, if given the opportunity to uncover it.

When I am not teaching or practicing yoga, you can find me with my kiddos, obsessing over the perfect yoga playlist, warming up my coffee for the 20th time or chasing the sunshine.

“I strongly recommend investing in Megan’s workshop! She does NOT hold back on her knowledge + experience. The fun flow of the training helped me tremendously + I still refer back to the materials she provided. I always suggest my yoga teachers take her training if interested in joining our team”
