Trauma informed teaching strategies for yoga + mindfulness

A unique training for yoga teachers and teacher trainees. Learn to cultivate awareness, compassion + a set of best practices around trauma informed teaching that allow you to hold space and support healing for students in any class setting.

The 2 core components are MIND BODY CONNECTION + RESILIENCE. You will learn the physiology and neuroscience of trauma. We explore the impact on brain function, physical and energetic bodies, emotions and mental health, + attachment and relationships. You will learn how to support post traumatic growth within the boundaries of a yoga class offering. Specifically, we look at verbal cues, language, power of choice, avoiding triggers, hands -on assists, asana, tools for grounding and self regulation + key elements of a trauma informed practice.

Six hour module includes a 60 minute trauma informed practice + continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance.

Sing it sister…

“one of the best I’ve ever taken on Yoga for Trauma. Megan provided much practical information, along with the science behind a trauma-based practice. It was densely packed with suggestions for poses + background content that can be readily applied to transforming a typical yoga practice into one that is trauma focused.“ Chris Van Huysse, The Prison Youth Yoga Project
